West Virginia Online Gaming
In March 2019, the West Virginia Lottery Interactive Wager Act automatically became law when Gov. Jim Justice let the veto window pass. The law legalized online casino gambling in West Virginia, providing one license for each of West Virginia's five casinos. There was no firm launch date set for the first West Virginia online casino, as regulations and the application process still needed to be outlined. The WV Lottery had until June 2020 to finalize regulations. WV Lottery Director John Myers was quoted as saying the timeline was prudent considering the upcoming 2020 election and the 2021 inauguration.
